The Milk Mama is a week old. The blog, that is. I’ve got the site up, having tweaked the layout and appearance to meet my satisfaction for now, with a grand total of 5 posts. Thanks for reading and supporting me in these first few days!
I have also enjoyed following other mama and breastfeeding bloggers. Some posts this past week:
- When Breastfeeding Doesn’t Go as Planned by Alicia Schisler at Mommy News and Views. This is an amazing story of perseverance in the face of major breastfeeding challenges.
- Tanya at The Motherwear Breastfeeding Blog discusses two recent cases where mothers were fired related to breastfeeding or pumping on the job.
- Angela at Breastfeeding 1-2-3 has a thoughtful piece about how breastfeeding affects family planning. I’m far from ready to think about having my next child, but I look forward to the experience of breastfeeding a newborn, something I missed out on with my son.
- I referred to this in an earlier post, but there’s a fascinating and disturbing report by Melodie at Breastfeeding Moms Unite about the purchase of Lansinoh by the Pigeon Corporation.
- There are a couple of good reviews with giveaways at Blacktating (Babies Bliss Nipple Cream for Mommies) and Breastfeeding Moms Unite (Soothies Gel Pads). Good products for new mamas.
Feel free to spread the word about my new little corner of the web here. I enjoy dialogue, questions and feedback. If you know any other bloggers or sites I should check out, let me know.
